Standardisation in Practice: Towards a CEN-CENELEC Workshop Agreement
Training Session 8
14 March 2024 | 10:00-11:30 CET
Description:
Standardisation is a valuable approach to enhance the recognition of research results, and many research projects strive to broaden the user network for their findings by actively participating in standardisation processes. In cases where no ongoing standardisation efforts are underway in a specific context of interest and a widespread impact is desired, especially across diverse sectors and stakeholders, establishing a CEN-CENELEC Workshop to formulate a CWA (CEN-CENELEC Workshop Agreement) can be a prudent choice. This method is the most expedient for developing standards, as it involves an ad hoc group, making it particularly well-suited for the outcomes of Research and Innovation (R&I). It can also serve as the initial step towards a future European standard (EN) or International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) standard.
This training session is designed to assist R&I projects in enhancing their understanding of the CEN-CENELEC Workshop and CWA. It addresses key questions such as how to initiate the CWA process, what prerequisites need to be met, and the required resources, and provides advice from experienced research projects.
Who should attend?
The training session is intended for the researchers who participate in EU-funded R&I projects and anyone interested in the basics of standardisation.
