The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is the world’s largest technical professional organisation dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity. The IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc) is a leading community within IEEE focused on advancing communications and networking technologies. ComSoc connects thousands of professionals, researchers, and industry leaders working in areas such as 5G/6G, IoT, AI-driven networks, cybersecurity, and cloud communications. Through its Standards Development Board, ComSoc coordinates the creation and maintenance of communication-related IEEE standards that guide the global ICT ecosystem.

This webinar will explore how IEEE develops international standards, from their initiation and drafting to their final publication. The session will introduce the structure and scope of ComSoc’s Standardization Activities, highlighting active projects and recent accomplishments. Attendees will:

  • Gain practical insights into the IEEE standardization workflow.

  • Learn about ComSoc’s ongoing and upcoming standardisation projects.

  • Discover opportunities to contribute to or initiate new IEEE ComSoc standards.

  • Connect with IEEE experts and explore collaborations, particularly between European academia and industry.

Whether you aim to contribute to new standards or understand how they shape emerging technologies, this webinar provides direct access to expertise from one of the world’s most respected standardisation communities.
